Bullying deprives children and adults the fundamental human right of basic respect that is newly being recognized and addressed. Our constitution states that we are entitled to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” yet, millions of people are bullied daily in schools, the workplace, in families, and relationships.

Anti-bullying advocates say it is extremely important to interrupt a bully’s power. One way is to educate people about why the bully is a bully. In simple terms, a bully has very low self-esteem and in order to feel superior to someone, he or she will put down, harass, and torment that person sometimes to the point of suicide. A person who feels good about themselves, has no need to do this.

Mine is a grassroots effort to empower people in the face of bullying by reminding them through mirrored message jewelry that words and actions are a reflection of the bully’s own dislike/hatred for themselves and not to be taken personally. Stop believing the lies! Take back your power!

Too many people who are bullied often suffer in silence due to embarrassment. Let’s stop the shame! Bring it out in the open and call it what it is…….Self-hatred on the part of the bully.

There are many wonderful people who try to educate people in schools, workplaces, and shelters about anti-bullying. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the jewelry will benefit The Bully Police (www.bullypolice.org) who do a fantastic job of educating the public and our government about bullying and it’s effects on our youth and society as a whole.
